Wonderful Winter Break

BTA Connect is back after the compilers and British Travel Awards IT operations team return from their annual winter break and prepare for the 2020 nomination cycle which commences Monday 6th April.

The team escaped to warmer climes for well-earned R&R at the Bahia Del Duque, Costa Adeje, Tenerife and in their opinion the experience was worth every penny. The property offers 346 rooms and 40 villas situated in 63,000sqm of tropical gardens which engender a comfortable and relaxed guest environment. Hotel accommodation is located in 19 low-rise independent houses that harmonise beautifully within their surroundings, so if you’re looking for a luxury hotel that isn’t a voluminous concrete, glass and steel structure the Bahia Del Duque definitely deserves consideration.

The hotel offers a comprehensive range of dining, spa and wellness facilities that can be discovered on their website. But for us, the outstanding feature was the hospitality and discreet attentiveness of the staff, across all services, from our arrival to departure. When there was an issue in one of the rooms, housekeeping responded within minutes of being made aware and resolved the problem with the minimum of inconvenience and maximum efficiency.

CONCLUSION: We booked as private travellers and no suppliers knew of our association with the British Travel Awards. So impressed we’ll be back, same time next year… Can’t wait for the non-EU member queue in Tenerife South arrivals!

INSIDER TIP: The hotel has nine restaurants serving a variety of cuisines. Subject to season, the half board supplement is around £40 - £50pppn for dining in “El Bernegal” with discounted meals in selected restaurants. If daily buffet dining isn’t your thing, the restaurant prices can work out only a few Euros more than the half-board supplement. There are also a number of restaurants and eateries, along the seafront, within easy walking distance of the hotel.

Depending on the time of year, not all the hotel restaurants are open every night but operate on a rotational basis. If you wish to make your own meal arrangements visit “The Club House” which is located on the reception level in the main building. There you can find out the dining options and make reservations. These restaurants are extremely popular so it's best to make your bookings soon after arrival.
